Evangelism Workshop

On December 4, 2010, an evangelism workshop was held at the Stonegate Fellowhip. Bro. Mike Elkins conducted a solid, biblically sound, and practical foundation to assist Miracle on Tyler Street volunteers in becoming more effective in evangelism.

Below is a summary of the key aspects of the workshop. We encourage you to study the scriptures and allow the Lord to make you a more effective tool in building His Kingdom.

  • There is a need for workers in the building of the kingdom. Matthew 9:35 - 38. Jesus has given us the charge to make disciples. Matthew 28:18 - 20.

  • God is the One who draws people to Christ. John 6:44 and John 6:65. Our job is to be available and obedient.

  • God has a heart for the lost. 2 Peter 3:9.

  • Jesus gave a parable on how the kingdom grows. Mark 4:26 - 32. We need to assess where a person is in this cycle and share with them appropriately. Some people are at "ground level" with no knowledge of Christ. Some people may have had a seed planted, but don't have a full under standing of who Jesus is. Others are beginning to understand who Jesus is and have a desire to go to heaven. Some people have an understanding of who Jesus is, their need for Him, but are fearful of what they may loose by following Christ. And finally, others just need to pray the prayer of salvation.

  • The four C's of the Gospel:
    • Creation - God created all things and has a plan

    • Crib - The birth of the Savior is a part of the plan

    • Cross - The cross represents the free gift of salvation for all mankind who accept Christ

    • Crown - God's plan is complete in the work of Christ; a person's relationship with God is renewed in Christ

  • The Romans Road to Salvation: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:13, Romans 10:9, and Romans 8:38

Again, we encourage you to study the scriptures above and allow God to use you in the building of His kingdom.
