Evangelism Workshop

An Evangelism Workshop for all Miracle on Tyler Street volunteers was held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Stonegate Fellowship.

Bro. Mike Elkins provided a solid biblical foundation to help volunteers evangelize our community during Miracle on Tyler Street.

God Said: I Am With Thee

This lesson focuses on how as children of God, He is with us...at all times. No matter what takes place in our lives, God promises to be with us. He "created" us and "formed" us and declares in Isaiah 43, that "we are His". Even after we sin, God is willing restore us to show the world, how great is His love. The lesson scripture is taken from Isaiah 43:1 - 7, 11 - 12.

Vision Statement

Our vision is for the southeast side of Midland, Texas be an economically and educationally thriving part of the City of Midland.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop the ecomomic and educational avenues by which the people of the southeast side of Midland can thrive.

Our Strategy

In order to bring the vision into fruition, Greater Ideal has implemented a two part strategy:

The Family Life Center
ICEED, Inc.

The Family Life Center

The Familiy Life Center has several features that contribute to the development of the community. They are:

Nadrean Mays Library
The functional and expanding library is stocked with both educational and spiritual resources. Students may utilize the library independently for research or study, or participate in the after school tutorial program.
Samuel Evans Chapel
The chapel/multi-purpose room is regularly used for meetings and bible study. It is also available for bridal and baby showers, and small wedding ceremonies.
Technology Center
This center has 10 Dell computers operating with the most current Microsoft software. The Family Life Center is able to offer the computers, as well as a printer, fax machine and internet access as a result of a partnership with Midland College. The center is open Monday - Saturday for research, e-mail and homework. Computer classes for all ages and levels are available to the public throughout the week.
Sweet Ideal Kitchen
This is one of the most utilized and important features of the Family Life Center. The staff provides daily lunches Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 2:00pm to the community. A minimal fee is charged for these meals; however, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay.
Recreational/Exercise Facilities
The Family Life Center has extensive facilities for exercise and recreation, including a gym, weight room, and game room. These facilities are available at no cost to the public, and may be rented for private parties for a nominal fee. Please visit this page for more information.

ICEED, Inc.

Ideal Community Economic Education Development, Inc (ICEED) is the second part of the strategy for the productivity for the Southside of Midland, Texas. ICEED's focus is to:

increase the number of jobs within the community
provide decent, safe and affordable housing
provide better child care for families
improve relationships and spiritual development initiatives.

ICEED, Inc. has already established two transitional houses that are available to single parent families.
